Tornado

The last two nights here have been filled with bad weather. Two nights in a row there were tornado warnings in Norwalk...where I go to church and used to live. One actually touched down last night and I took some pictures of the damage when I was in town today. Some sights I saw were tons of damaged or downed trees, one house where they were picking their belongs out of the rubble and loading them onto a moving truck and a couple houses with trees leaning against them. But the thing I saw the most was many people out helping their neighbor. As far as I know no one was hurt in the storm...at least no one that I personally know. And for that I am grateful to God.

Memorizing

Recently I memorized Psalm 119:11 - "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." - in Portuguese. "Guardei meu coração a tua palavra, para não pecar contra ti."

Now I'm memorizing Philippians 4:8. I've always loved this verse but have never commited it to memory. (Shame on me...)

The Great Wolf Lodge

Jill mentioned last week that she wanted to take the boys on a trip, preferably to a water park somewhere. So, at the suggestion of my friends Ron and Heather, we headed down to Kansas City to The Great Wolf Lodge. After one full evening and one full day we were pretty water logged! We swam, played basketball, rode the lazy river, tried every single water slide many times, stood under the big bucket that dumped 1000 gallons of water every 5 minutes, sat in the hot tub, got a fair share of water up our noses and still had time to play a round of miniature golf!!
